On this page solutions of Exercise of Unit 11: Parallelograms and Triangles of Mathematics 9 written by Dr. Karamat H. Dar and Prof. Irfan-ul-Haq has been given. There are two questions in this exercise and solution of both the questions are given below.
Q.1 One angle of parallelogram is 130∘. Find the measures of its remaining angles.
Solution:
In a parallelogram ABCD, m∠B=130∘
m∠B=m∠D (Opposite angles of parallelogram)
m∠B=m∠D=130∘
We know that
m∠A+m∠B=180∘m∠A+130∘=180∘m∠A=180∘−130∘m∠A=50∘
Also we have m∠A=m∠C (Opposite angles of parallelogram)
⇒m∠C=50∘
Q.2 One exterior angle formed on producing one side of a parallelogram is 40∘. Find the measures of its interior angles.
Solution:
Given In a parallelogram ABCD, m∠DAM=40∘
To find: m∠B=?, m∠DAB=?, m∠C=?, m∠D=?
m∠DAM+m∠DAB=180∘40∘+m∠DAB=180∘m∠DAB=180∘−40∘m∠DAB=140∘ Also m∠DAB+m∠B=180∘140∘+m∠B=180∘m∠B=180∘−140∘m∠B=40∘
Now m∠B=m∠D=40∘⇒m∠D=40∘
Also m∠C=m∠DAB⇒m∠C=140∘
