Find the 15th term of the arithmetic sequence 2,5,8, GOOD

Here a1=2, d=52=3 and n=15. We know that: an=a1+(n1)d This gives a15=2+(151)3=2+42=44 Hence the 15th term of the given sequence is 44.

The first term of an arithmetic sequence is 8 and the 21st is 108. Find the 7th term. GOOD

Since a1=8 and a21=108.

We know that an=a1+(n1)d. This gives a21=8+(211)d108=8+20d20d=1088=100d=10020d=5. Now a7=a1+(n1)da7=8+(71)5a7=8+30=38. Hence the 7th term of the given sequence is 38.
