Solution.
Given:
an=(−1)n+1(3n−5).
we can compute the following terms:
a1=(−1)1+1(3(1)−5)=(1)(3−5)=−2a2=(−1)2+1(3(2)−5)=(−1)(6−5)=−1a3=(−1)3+1(3(3)−5)=(1)(9−5)=4a4=(−1)4+1(3(4)−5)=(−1)(12−5)=−7
Now
a10=(−1)10+1(3(10)−5)=(−1)(30−5)=−25a15=(−1)15+1(3(15)−5)=(1)(45−5)=40
So, a1=−2, a2=−1, a3=4, a4=−7, a10=−25, a15=40.
